We are looking for someone to perform the role of a project chemical engineer by actively participating in a design team with other chemical process, mechanical, and electrical engineers to help design and build new processes, plant upgrades, and troubleshoot existing mechanical systems.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s of science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a strong foundation in mass transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics desired. A Professional Engineer’s certification is desired, but not required.
A practical working knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, pressure vessels, material science, structural design, mass transfer, distillation system design, process system design, mass/material balances, and other commonly used concepts, accepted practices, and procedures within the field of chemical and mechanical engineering is required.
Good oral and written communication skills desired.The candidate must be articulate and accurate in written and oral communications, proficient at drafting written research reports, and be familiar with best practices for the proper presentation of engineering data in tabular and chart form.

Description :
Chemical process operator responsibilities include:
chemical process unit operation
material handling (including charging and discharging of chemical products in drums and totes)
process control and adherence to standard operating procedures
safety & environmental compliance activities
analytical testing of production samples to assess product compliance with specifications.
Job duties involve:
use of manual and/or automated control devices
various process equipment and computer control systems
performing minor maintenance tasks to maintain process equipment
any other duties assigned by supervisor
Applicant must possess good communication skills (written and verbal), and good computer skills. The position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 55 pounds and handle 55-gallon drums. Individual must be able to function effectively within a work/team environment, and possess the ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Provide departmental bookkeeping and clerical support for the engineering department, specifically in the tracking and reporting of project budgets, expenses, and engineering schedules to other departments within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma (or equivalent) required. A two-year certificate from a college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training is desired.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required. The candidate must be courteous, articulate, and accurate in written and oral communications, and be familiar with best practices for the proper presentation of engineering data in tabular and spreadsheet/chart form.
The employee must be able to effectively multi-task in a work environment that can be stressful and demanding due to different types of personalities, technical nature of work, and demanding concurrent project schedules.
Employee must have the ability to read and interpret technical engineering documents and write routine correspondence. Must be able to author spreadsheets for tracking and calculating expenditures and budgets. Must be able to accurately type at least 45 words per minute.
